Crazy images. Like the 70s Hurricane damage my Dad told me about.

Great picture... the lights add to the eerie-ness...

Luckily doesn't sound like any people were hurt, but horrible damage.
Number of places destroyed.
Difficult just rebuilding with the knowledge flooding could easily happen again.
OTOH, Hurricane Agnes was in 1972.... and the flooding last night was the worst I remember for Ellicott City in my lifetime ('79-)... so it's not like Main Street has 'regularly' suffered severe flooding.

One guy we went to HS with had his restaurant destroyed. Another guy dove under the water and was able to save his cat.

Guy whose restaurant was wrecked gets to the place today, finds someone inside trying to steal.
He files charges, goes somewhere else... gets back to the restaurant, finds more people inside with trashbags looting.

Definitely heart breaking.
Just saw The Sun post pictures of past storms that impacted EC.... showed Agnes in 72.... also showed 1989, and 2011... don't remember '89 at all, had forgot about '11..

EC will rebuild, going to take some time though...
Another link from The Sun said the 6 inches of rain in 2 hours, is basically a 1 in 1000 year storm.

Has anyone seen any official donation links? I'm always skeptical of scams on facebook, especially when something like this happens and people are looking to help.

I saw this on facebook

Not sure how legit it is though.
This is so sad. I may talk a drive down there as close as I can get and walk over -- probably later this week once things settle down a bit.

I'm friends with the owners of The Rumor Mill, who need to rebuild..
Anyway, if anyone has been, knows Matt & Lexi Milani, and want and are able to help out, her sister has set up a Gofundme.

Matt was older.. don't really know him, but know he went to Catonsville...
