Agreed 100%. I completely understand, being a Rays fan and living in Tampa, what it feels like to have a crap stadium and it be in a horrible location. This is great news for the A's!

I'm a fan of Billy Beane and what he's done with limited funds. But, there is something that just doesn't sit well that they just cut their already moderate costs in the hopes of a stadium. It's a business and I get that, but that's gotta be so difficult to swallow by A's fans.

This is incredible. According to Stats, Inc., the previous record (since they began in 1988) was 30 by Tim Wakefield.

Josh Reddick is on fire. Hit his 14th homer tonight. Came into the game with his OPS at .873.

Oakland now 9 games over .500 (54-45), 4.5 out in the West, and currently the 2nd WC.

They have won 8 of their last 10, and 17 of 20 in July.

It's pretty insane how well the A's have played over the last month. Their pitching is no surprise, but their offense has scored 5.3 runs per game in July, which has obviously been more than enough given their competent pitching.

Josh Reddick, who has basically carried the offense, has been scorching hot in July, posting a 316/375/608/983 line. Reddick slammed hard against the out of town scoreboard in right field last night while making the final out of the game on a Markakis fly ball. Reddick was down a while, but eventually walked off on his own accord. It will be interesting to see if he misses any time, and if he does, how the offense will proceed without him in Oakland.

It won't happen, but if the A's make the playoffs--and especially if they can take the division--Reddick will have a legitimate MVP case. He's third in the AL in rWAR and tied for third in fWAR, though Trout is running away with both types of that stat.
