Well, that's just bullshit... it's Exhibit #2,137 in support of the claim that even Dem administrations have become right-wing... just not as far- right as the other party, but still more-than-plenty far-right

I'm guessing that source code just got hidden in a cave someplace it takes 2 weeks to get to...

It's not about ideology, it's about power....and stoking people's fear to gain it, bit by bit.

I still don't understand how the FBI couldn't solve this themselves.

There are 10,000 combinations between 0000 and 9999.

Let's say you get 10 guesses before the phone self-destructs.

1.  Physically dissect the phone and grab the memory chip.

2.  Take an export of the memory chip.

3.  Set up a copy of the memory chip in a test environment.

4.  Make 10 guesses.  Memory self destructs.

5.  Restore test environment with new copy from export.

6.  Make next 10 guesses.  Memory self destructs.

7.  Repeat steps 5 and 6 programatically until you find the correct passcode.

So, looks like we know what you were up to over the weekend.

CNN: FBI may have found a way into terrorist's iPhone

The DOJ has been pressuring Apple for help in gaining access to Farook's iPhone.

But in a court filing on Monday, the DOJ said it may no longer need Apple. "On Sunday, March 20, 2016, an outside party demonstrated to the FBI a possible method for unlocking Farook's iPhone. If the method is viable, it should eliminate the need for the assistance from Apple Inc."

The FBI says they were able to unlock one of the phones with the help of a third party. Apple has subsequently asked the judge to throw out the court order. Snowden says that the FBI's claim that they can't unlock an iPhone is BS.

The Justice Dept dropped the lawsuit.

The FBI reportedly employed professional hackers to help crack a San Bernardino terrorist's iPhone.

According to The Washington Post, officials used a previously unknown security flaw to unlock the handset without erasing any data. The bureau's mysterious collaborators are, as the Post suggested, "from the sometimes shadowy world of hackers and security researchers who profit from finding flaws in companies' software or systems."

Just as I thought, the FBI found nothing on that phone (but to save face, they are spinning it as a valuable nothing).
