DL Breyon Gaddy makes it official. He probably slots in at NT, where he'll get a chance to compete for immediate playing time with Cam Spence and Kingsley Opara.
DL Brandon Gaddy also makes it official. He probably fits in at DT, since he's a bit smaller than his twin brother.
Are they going to be like the guards in The Replacements?

RB Tayon Fleet-Davis makes it official. Probably another 2017 redshirt.

We're about 3.5 hours in, and the Terps currently have the #17 class in the country, one spot behind Penn State. If they can grab Castro-Fields, that should spring them ahead of the Nittany Lions.

The World Wide leader-who I just turned off dropped them down to 20

What the what?
That made me laugh. The kid committed from space.
Let's hope he qualifies and gets out in space for Maryland.
Nice work by DJ and the gang.

Color me easily impressed, but I liked the video. Was a neat twist without being too drawn out and obnoxious.
With that said, the TT guys seems to think he's going to have trouble qualifying, which means he'll go the prep school route, which means his recruitment will be re-opened. I'd love to be wrong but I'd bet right now that he never comes to MD.

Pretty stoked about the class... landing Top 17-20 class right off the bat, is huge. Some real quality here, kept a good portion of the best locals.
After today, it becomes about seeing further improvement on the field, and stacking classes on top of each other.

I'll be very surprised if Hill doesn't get on the field at some point during the year...only way I see a RS is if there is full health and performance in-front.
Agree. The coaching staff has demonstrated they want to get freshmen who they believe can contribute playing experience when possible. Even if Hill isn't at the top of the depth chart, they may only be a play or two away from really needing him (see: 2012 season).

Do these guys seriously have to fax in their letters of intent or was that just a turn of phrase?
These kids are 17 or 18 years old, how many even know what a fax machine is!
"What's a fax machine?"
"It's like a printer but instead it sends your LOI to the school over the landline"
"What's a printer?...and what's a landline?"
They know....the coaches all told them to watch Office Space before Signing Day.

Sounds like he isn't actually signing an LOI, as he's definitely not qualifying. He'll be headed to prep school or CC.

That's how the Ravens got Dumervil. He or his agent didn't make it to Kinkos in time to send the fax to the Broncos before the deadline or something.

Notre Dame flipped another one of MD's commits....DE Kofi Wardlow. That one sucks a lot more than the kicker.

And with that, Maryland's day is wrapped up. The Terps secured 29 total recruits. Nine of them are 4-star recruits, and the remainder are 3-stars. 247Sports currently has them ranked as the #18 class in the country, and #4 in the Big Ten behind Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State. All in all, it was an extremely successful day for DJ Durkin and his coaching staff, as they secured the best recruiting class in the program's history. It's also important to note that 8 members of this class (including two of the 4-star recruits) have already enrolled in classes and will participate in spring practice.
I have updated my projected three-deep depth chart to reflect this class. It can be found here: http://baltimorespor...17-depth-chart/

We certainly had a better day than one of our B1G East rivals.
