RHP Mitch Harris will be called up today by the Cards.

If you don't know Mitch's story, he was drafted out of Navy by STL in 2008 but had to serve five years in the Navy.

Flash forward to 2013 and the Cards have him another shot. He couldn't even touch 90 in his first outing but has been able to get his fastball up to 93-94 now.

He will be the first Navy grad to appear in a MLB game in 94 years.

Cards play the Nationals in DC this week which makes it even cooler.

Oliver Drake is sitting down in Norfolk right now going, "Missed it by THAT much."

Little bit different in that Drake left Navy after his sophomore season. Not sure if that counts for that stat.

Drake got rocked in his ST outings with the O's this year but has 12 K's in 6 IP so far for Norfolk.

Running the bases. Another reason pitchers hitting is terrible.

Nobody needs an ace... what you need is a solid rotation, no aces required... they're a luxury whose benefit can be entirely negated if the #4 and #5 guys suck...

Best record in baseball so far...just in awe of this organization. They do it every year, quietly, and their ace is out for season. Must be nice to be a Cardinals fan.
I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

Easily the best run organization in baseball. Tony La Russa retires, and they let the best player of thr last decade (Pujols) walk. After those two devastating losses, they only make it back to the World Series. No big deal.

Same here. Nicest people I've ever run into. Slightly behind the ones I met in Green Bay

Most Yankees and Red Sox fans I've ever met, even at Yankee Stadium, have been great. But there's a reason people hate those fanbases as a whole. Same with the Cardinals.
