Always great to hear. Another SP prospect goes down.

I'm not sure Chris Lee really was a nice thing, but damn, why can't we have nice things?

You kidding Melewski told me to not criticize DD's trades. He got Chris Lee in a deal similar to the Matusz deal. I asked him if Lee was for real or the latest Matt Riley, Rocky Coppinger, etc. Did not get an answer.

Showalter provided an updated on Double-A Bowie left-hander Chris Lee, who’s on the disabled list with a strained lat.
“He started throwing and had some discomfort there, so they just shut him down again and kind of give him a little bit longer healing period,” Showalter said. “They don’t think it’s anything structurally there. It just didn’t quit get enough time for that to manage itself. That’s what Dr. (Michael) Jacobs felt.
“I don’t know how much time. They just slowed down again.”

This is sort of in response to this post and another post I think you made concerning K rate and the concern.
I agree that it's concerning that he's hurt, but what is the real injury rate in the minors for most teams. I'm sure it's pretty high.
As far as his pitching style, Lee's K/BB rate this year is actually better than it was last year, even though his overall K rate is only half of what it was in 2015. That to me is a sign of an organizational philosophy rather than an indication of actual capability. The O's clearly teach to pitch to contact, and to let the defense play.
This is also less concerning to me because he had high K rates in lower levels, including more than 1 per inning for a couple of years early on before he had the velocity uptick.
He still has a lot of work to do, but that is expected out of a 23 year old in AA. He's right where he needs to be, imo.

Too many walks.
And man does the Tides rotation suck. Thought they played in a pitchers park.

SCOUTING CONTENT
OVERALL SUMMARY:
Used as a starter to build innings up after an injury-shortened 2018, the 26-year-old Lee projects better in relief. He has a live arm that runs a fastball up to 96 mph when he’s fresh, but the rest of his arsenal has a hard time missing bats in a starting role, where he’s more prone to walk hitters and struggle turning lineups over. He made six starts for Glendale in the Fall League, showing flashes of brilliance early in the fall but generally struggling to put batters away.
THE FUTURE:
Lee should enter Spring Training competing for a spot on the O’s pitching staff. A prospect that the organization has waited a long time for, it’s now or never for Lee.
