Medvedev took it to Djoker on Sunday. Mevedev was serving lights out for most of the match. Novak missed an opportunity for a break and a lead in the 2nd set and then went on to lose the set. He started to play a little better late in the 3rd set but by that point it was too little too late.

It's looking like unvaccinated players won't be allowed to enter next year's Australian Open. Not sure what Djokovic would do - he's won the tournament 9 times, he needs one more major to break the record, but he also hasn't gotten vaccinated yet.

So Djokovic got a medical exemption to play in the Australian Open without being vaccinated and flew to Australia this morning, but now he might not be able to get a VISA to enter the country without being vaccinated... he'll probably end up playing, but who knows.

As it turns out, Australia canceled Djokovic's VISA and kicked him out of the country.

Was back in, now looks like he's getting the boot.
For a guy that cares about being the best, you think he would get the jab so as to not jeopardize the opportunity to get another slam.

Well I think that shows you serious some folks' convictions are on that matter. For some it is stubbornness, for others it's legitimate fear/anxiety.
I will say that I was pretty shocked they didn't make an exemption for him. I have no real problem with his decision to not get it, and no real problem with Australia for not letting him play without it.

Meanwhile Nadal is onto the Semis. If he's able to get his 21st then he is looking at a decent chance of moving up 2 on Djoker with the French Open being next.
I'm not sure if it is official yet, but I believe the French Open won't be allowing non vaccinated players into the tournament either.

Sounds like Wimbledon is going to ban Russian players this year. Medvedev would be the most prominent player affected.

So before the big 3 came along, Sampras held the record for most grand slams with 14. If Nadal wins in the final, he'll have 14 French Open titles alone (and a total of 22 grand slams).
