I've decided that fans don't get to chose the starters anymore.

Good job by them then.

But it's very early. Way too early in fact. Shouldn't even be able to vote until June 1 in my opinion.

Obviously Royals fans care about this more than any other fan base.

They've been fired up by their run to the World Series last year. Attendance is up by 11,000 fans per game. The Rays are only average 14.5k total (although that may not be fair).

Good for them.

Hosmer is catching up against Cabrera. Infante and Altuve are tied. Morales is only a few hundred thousand votes behind Cruz. What happens if the AL starters are all Royals plus Trout? I mean, Rios has a legit chance at fourth and he only has 33 PAs this year!!!

I hope AJ doesn't make it... I'd rather him have those days off...

If he's not picked by the fans then he'll be picked by the players or coach. He's going.

The most amazing thing about that controversy is that apparently no one thought it was odd that a newspaper was printing pre-marked ballots.

HardballTalk: Progress! Only seven Royals lead their positions in the All-Star vote

Miguel Cabrera has blown past Eric Hosmer (up 1.3 million votes), Josh Donaldson is only 33K votes back at third base, and while Yoenis Cespedes and Jose Bautista have passed Adam Jones, Cespedes has passed Alex Rios as well.

Royals' fans aren't "cool" or "die-hard" or "ambitious." They're losers.

I don't really get the anger over HFA being determined by the AS game. At least in comparison to the previous method. This is no worse imo.
