Beavs eliminate Indiana in a 1-0 pitcher's duel. They'll get another shot at Mississippi St. Friday.

Seth I find myself rooting for UNC because I know nothing about college baseball and you've dominated this thread.

I believe I'll be able to take full credit for any success in this year's tournament.

Emmanuel has been one of my fav prospects for 2 years now. I hope his arm doesn't fall off after this tourney but that freshman they have behind him is pretty darn good himself.

He pitched pretty well again tonight, but unfortunately will have plenty of time to rest, as UCLA is about to eliminate Carolina as I type this.

UCLA vs. Mississippi State for the title.

Fun run for the Diamond Heels, but it came to an end tonight.

Hope to see some of these guys in the bigs sooner than later.

Ha!

I was thinking more like Kyle Seager and Matt Harvey!

Looks like UCLA is headed to their first NCAA Baseball title, leading Mississippi State 5-0 in the 6th inning, after winning game 1 last night.

Congrats to them!

Todd Zeile's son Shane is their starting catcher.

And this will bring to an end the thread that no one read.

I enjoyed keeping it alive. :)

I'm going to bring up a heretical topic, but the thought popped into my mind so I'm curious to see what others think.

How long will the College World Series remain in Omaha?

I get that it may not make financial sense due to the size of the crowds* at Rosenblatt and now TD Ameritrade Park, but if college baseball can get a little bigger there might be a day where the NCAA decides to offer the tournament up to major-league cities. Which would be cool, seeing the games at Camden Yards and PNC and AT&T and Yankee Stadium. Of course, the tradition of holding it in Omaha is almost as interesting as the tournament itself.

*On the other hand, Omaha built a brand-new, 25,000-seat park--according to Wikipedia, expandable to 35,000--for the sole purpose of the College World Series, as the minor-league team built their own place. So they must get crowds that support a stadium of real size.

I agree that it would be cool, but I think it's a nice tradition, and apparently a big thing for badge of honor for Omaha, so it won't ever leave more than likely.

First time they've been in the ACC tourney since 2005.

Good luck to 'em.  Always enjoyed watching games at Shipley after working out at the CRC when I was at UMD.

Lemme get two claps and a Ric Flair

Aren't there only five teams in the ACC baseball tournament or something? :D

I've been watching on and off all day, and the lower seeds won the first two games..#5 Clemson beat #4 Duke, and #9 Georgia Tech beat #1 Miami, though #2 Florida State is handling #7 North Carolina 6-1 as I type.

The Royals just released Justin Maxwell, maybe the Terps can bring him back.

I came in here to post that MD v VA is on TV right now, and Stinnett and the Terps were up 1-0 in the B2, but as I typed VA hit a 2R HR and goes up 2-1.

Stinnett's slider = mmmmmmm. Huge improvement in the pitch this year, it's a K pitch all the way.

Jake struck out the side in the 4th mixing 98mph fastballs and that wipeout slider. Terps strung a couple hits together and took the lead back 3-2.

Heck of a baseball game if you are missing it. (yeah, I know I'm the only one watching)

Can't make this stuff up.

VA ties it at 4 an inning ago. Top 7, 2 outs, MD gets a guy on HBP. RP is still a bit wild so the PC comes out to give him a pep talk with the camera right on their faces. Play by play talks about what he's telling him, and he says that it's about pumping him up and reminding him how good of a pitcher he is.

The next pitch, MD hits a 2R HR to take a 6-4 lead.

Going bottom 7 now.

And MD knocks off one of the top teams in the country 7-6.

FL St. in the morning, 11am.
