Just spent about an hour perusing through "Lindy's College Basketball".
Maryland is #1, Carolina is #2, ACC/Big Ten ranked #1 and #2 conference wise...
Damn, I know it's a captain obvious statement, but this is going to be fun!!

Michigan State AD Mark Hollis with yet another cool, innovative scheduling idea: http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/13730290/michigan-state-spartans-ad-consolidates-travel-schedule-three-teams-face-northeastern …
Always wondered why college teams/conference didn't try to do more of this to cut travel costs. Obviously there are always going to be issues and times when you can't do this, but it's a no brainer.

Silly me for thinking this was already commonplace. Glad Hollis gets to be seen as an innovator for having such a basic common sense idea.

Seriously...how is this not standard practice.

At least at lower levels. Hell, don't most high schools do this?

For most high schools, it's just a short bus ride... once you get the football team and all their stuff on the bus, how much room is left over? And for non-football, how much does a short bus ride cost anyway?

There's nothing about football in any of this. When I was in high school, the different teams from the same sport (boys and girls soccer, basketball, lacrosse, etc.) tended to play the same opponents on the same days, for this very reason.

CollegeBasketballTalk: Louisville investigating allegations of paid escorts

Of course they used prostitutes. Who doesn't use woman to help in recruiting? This is a complete non story that will be blown up into a real story because it's not the PC thing to do. Ugh!
Just like UNC, everybody does this; Louisville just got caught.
Whoever thinks that, say, Texas isn't hiring women for thsi exact purpose is lying to themselves.

Except this isn't "encouraging" cheerleaders to "entertain" recruits (which is bad enough from an institutional perspective). This is pretty blatant illegal activity, in addition to all of the basic stuff--impermissible benefits, lack of institutional control, etc.

Interesting thoughts I thought from Johnson, and Norlander on who goes into the year overrated and underrated... along with the strengths of the leagues.
