What am I missing? Is Texas A&M bball that much better of a job than VT?
Seems like a step down to me. Only the worst coaches come from Texas A&M.

I would expect NKU head coach John Brannen to get a real serious look from UC. He's a Cincinnati native (NKU is just across the Ohio River) and has taken the Norse to the NCAAT twice in the last three seasons, all in the early years of their D1 eligibility.

Mullin officially steps down. I'd imagine Bobby Hurley is their top choice.

Looks like Steve Alford is heading back to the MWC, being picked up by Nevada.

Hurley turns St John's down and decided to re up at Arizona State.

Sounds like Tim Cluess (Iona) may be a front-runner. Not sure that a 60 year old MAAC coach would get me excited if I were a Johnnies fan, though...
EDIT: Didn't realize Cluess played a few years at St. John's and is from Queens. That certainly changes my mind a bit and should play a big role in recruiting.

Do they still have fans?

SJU has a big fair-weather fan population, which makes sense given NYC. They'll still show up from the BET at MSG but I'd imagine if they were ever actually good, they'd arrive in force.

Cluess was Danny Green's high school coach!!
Also, what about Mark Jackson? Granted the Mullin thing didn't work out, but at least Jackson has some coaching experience and is wildly popular in New York given the St John's and Knicks history.

Sounds like Porter Moser has been offered the St John's job.
Pretty "meh" if you ask me...

Agreed. Nothing personal against him, but it feels like there should be some local ties with a program like that. Not exactly sure why I feel that way, but I do.

Maybe not? This would be a real bad look for St. John's.
Multiple sources close to Porter Moser thought he would take St Johns job when he left for NYC. This wasn’t about leveraging Loyola-Chicago. But some doubt now that he’s headed back home without a decision. Has a family that may not be in favor of move. #sjubb
