That is a joke.

But, this is the fight of the century in a sport that is on its last legs so it's not surprising.

Agreed. It should get just enough publicity to spark my interest in actually watching it, but for $100? No thanks. Maybe if it's on at BWW or some other sports bar.

$100? Lol

Totally will just be watching it on a 3rd party Internet site or a bar (if the bar isn't trying to be sleezy and charge and admittance).

Lemme get two claps and a Ric Flair

The last fight I watched was Tyson / Lewis with Rob at The Coliseum (an out-of-business cool sports bar in Cockeysville)... but I'm interested enough to want to see this one.  I imagine they will have a lot of buys / interest from non-fans like me.

If you get 5 people together, that's $20 a person. Still cheaper than going to a bar and buying $4 beers and/or food, dealing with crowds, etc.

They know this is the biggest fight since Tyson/Holyfield II so they're trying to break the bank.

It's actually a smart idea.

I bet it's going to suck. But the hype is enormous for obvious reasons and it will be considered a success. This is a great opportunity for boxing should it actually be an entertaining fight.

Boxing definitely needs this to be an entertaining fight, because with both guys more or less in the twilight of their careers, the names won't be around a whole lot longer to be a big draw. Basically, It'll be more important for the casual fan to enjoy the fight than to become a fan of either of the fighters. A knockout would be great in that regard, although with Manny's last 7 wins being via decision and 7 of Floyd's last 8 also being by decision, that's probably unlikely. Also wouldn't hurt for a few slugfests on the undercard.

From a hype perspective, it might be the last huge boxing fight ever.

I agree.

UFC has definitely taken over in that regard.

So, 5 criminal convictions (including domestic violence) by Mayweather including serving 90 days in jail. And all is good? Gonna spend $100 for PPV to make him rich? Some are doing a doubletake when it comes to Ray Rice or Adrian Peterson.

People will pay $100 to watch him (hopefully) get his brains beat in....for the domestic abuse and other reasons.

My interest in the fight is hoping Manny P has enough left in the tank to put him on the canvas.

If Manny KOs Floyd it would be a gigantic upset.

I do think it could be an underwhelming fight. Hopefully, the pace is good. Pac needs to just go for it. Make it entertaining. If Mayweather just sits back and looks to counter(he will) and Pac is overly cautious, it'll be a dud.
