I like the whole NBA AS weekend...My only issue is that people look at some of the plays these guys make in the game and oooo and ahhh over them...when most of them required them to take 3 or 4 steps without dribbling.

In other words, its not nearly as impressive as they make it out to be.

But still, I always watch the game and am always entertained by it...and that's the purpose of it.

Eh the complete lack of defense until the end of the game makes it borderline unwatchable IMO.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

Yet, you watch it in the regular games? :D

Haha contrary to popular belief, they do play defense in the NBA. The problem is when you have a guy like LeBron James shooting 60 for his last 80(!) it makes it appear like nobody plays defense. The guys are just too talented offensively.

Speaking of defense....gotta love what Kobe did on LBJ last night.

The block was great.

Just do away with All Star games all together. In every sport. None are fun to watch. MLB is the only one that is seriously contested.

The best thing about all-star weekend is the ancilliary events, slam dunk contest, HR Derby, etc. The games themselves are unwatchable although the MLB one is at least tolerable.

It is 34 degrees with freezing rain in Cincinnati today.

Tomorrow, I will be in 80 degree weather in Sarasota, Florida.

As of a couple of weeks I will be moving from the Harford County library to the Baltimore County library. Full-time, benefits, the works. I'm very excited.

Ratings suggest otherwise. I think the NFL is the only one worth eliminating, mostly because of a potential injury could be more lethal in the NFL ASG than any other one. Yes, it could happen in ANY sport.

Very cool. You are the reason I found out about them and saw them at a small venue, so I'm not going to hate. I hope it's a great show! How big of a venue?

My brother-in-law was on a connecting flight home out of Atlanta and Tom Davis was on the same plane coming back from Sarasota for his Saturday-morning show. Got his picture taken with Davis and everything.

That's awesome, one of my buddies went through the security line with Rick.

Also, I found a new drinking partner in Sarasota.

Medium sized. I'd say a couple hundred. It's an old iron furnace that they've turned into a venue near downtown Birmingham. http://www.slossfurnaces.com/
