Surprised that was so fast. I thought he'd at least ponder going to the U, with him being a hometown product.

Part of the new CBA is the art of pre-draft deals. Going to be a lot of quick signs. Used to be that concrete numbers didn't necessarily come up before the draft, just ballpark, but I think that's a big part of the equation now. Look at HOU with Correa, ok Appel didn't want to sign, if we take you here would you sign for this? The next pick only slots at this, so you aren't losing anything.

I really like this pick. I could see this kid making a ML impact. Just the way he profiles and what scouts have said about him makes me excited about the upside of him.

Marin's upside seems to be that of a guy like BRob. Marin may or may not steal bases at the same clip as Roberts in his prime, but his frame is bigger, and he could develop enough physically to add more pop. He seems like a quality prospect regardless.

The word on twitter is that Marin signed for slot.

Let's hope that we can save a bit on Gausman and make a run at Velazquez.

Aside from the dollar figure, the best thing is that he'll be able to play a full GCL season with a possible Aberdeen promotion if all goes well. If healthy, he should get ~175-200 AB's this summer.

Awesome. I'm really excited about this kid. I think that in about 4 years, he's going to be a big-time prospect for us.

I expect him to play in the GCL this year, and then at Delmarva next year. Frederick in '14, Bowie in '15, and then he's going to make his debut with us at some point in '16. And he's going to be our starting SS in '17, with Machado at 3B and Schoop at 2B.

Book it.

No problem. Figured it was time with the minor league season ending.

After getting 178 ab's in the GCL last year, I'm surprised he has been so overwhelmed in the SAL so far.
