I get
Chris Archer - P
David Buchanan - P
Desmond Jennings - OF
Justin Nicolino P (Minors)
for
Carlos Gonzalez - OF
Martin Prado - 2B/OF
CarGo's injuries are starting to scare me, and I really like the young talent I'm getting in this deal (specifically Arcehr. I'm not crazy about Jennings, and I may ask to replace him with Bruce. I'm also not crazy about Buchanan, and I'd like to replace him with someone else (like Hahn, Martin Perez) but I think that could be pushing it.

But cargo's injuries make me nervous. I feel he's pretty overrated.

Over valued maybe, because of health, but not overrated...Randall's spot on above, he's a top 5-10 player IF he's healthy.

I'm seeing if I can get some better prospects in the deal (like Archie Bradley and/or Matt Olson). Is something like Archer/Bradley/Olson/Someone else a little better? Or am I an idiot?

I would see if the other guy would bite on maybe Prado for Archer/Bradley or Olson. But a package including two bats, including a proven top 5, for three or four unknowns, when you can get pitching a lot easier...Hang onto CarGo.

The only reason I'm open to dealing CarGo is that I've taken over a team that didn't have a lot of talent. And, when there are 18 teams...each keeping about 40 players...it's pretty tough to rebuild a team unless you make some trades for multiple prospects (and pray you get it right).

I don't like Cargo's plate discipline numbers but I do expect him to continue hitting for power and average for the next few years so there's no rush to trade him. You're trading away a good hitter (with injury issues) and a decent bat for a good pitcher and a decent bat. I guess you're getting a bit younger but you're not adding considerable upside. Nicolino is going to be better in real life than in fantasy.
If your plan is to trade Cargo because you want to rebuild then I'd want more upside then what you're receiving and would be willing to take on more risk. I would stay away from Bruce because he's in decline. I'd be looking for Archer and a few young hitting prospects with upside.

This guy offered to trade me Miguel Cabrera for Clayton Kershaw. Normally I value hitters more than pitchers, but Kershaw is on another planet and Cab isnt getting any younger.
Thoughts?
I probably shouldn't tell you this because you're in a competitive league with me, but pitching is super deep this year. That said, I probably still wouldn't do it but it's close.

Not a trade, but a keeper question. I need to keep two of the following.
Madison Bumgarner in the 3rd round
Aroldis Chapman in the 5th round
Jonathan Lucroy in the 7th round
Masahiro Tanaka in the 9th round
Yordano Ventura in the 18th round.
The catch with Ventura is if I keep him then regardless of value, he only moves up 3 spots on the draft board each year I keep him. So he would be a 15th round keeper next year, 12th round in 2017, 9th round in 2018.

Total hypothetical. What would you give up to acquire Mike Trout? Or, what would you have to get to let him go. I only ask because it comes up all the time in one of my leagues. The guy with him declines on average a trade offer a day for him.
Probably the largest haul he turned down was last year. Goldschmidt, Miggy Cabrera, and Puig.
Keeper league, no limits, can have him forever.
If he's turning that down then there's no sense in trying to deal with him. He's lost his marbles.
For me, in a no limit keeper league I'd probably need 2-3 keepable guys like the ones you are offering. I probably wouldn't even demand that much. Goldschmidt and Puig both, theoretically, should be keepable for close to the next 5-6 years and MCab should remain a top offensive player for at least the next few seasons.
To turn down that haul for Trout is insane IMO.

I hate how people get so attached to names in fantasy. But you can also take advantage of that.
Goldschmidt has outperformed Trout so far this year, tough to argue otherwise. Goldschmidt is also only 27 so it's not like he's at the end of his prime. The problem is, Trout is the "sexy" name -- they guy heralded as the best pick in fantasy etc etc. It's very likely he will outperform Goldschmidt over the next several years. But by enough to also turn down Puig (who is an excellent buy low candidate btw) and MCab? That's insanity.
I guarantee you if this same guy had those three he wouldn't move them for Trout. That also bothers me -- people get too attached to their own guys.

MBum and Ventura. Nice mix of top line starter and young controllable guy. C are easy to replace, don't ever keep a RP, and Tanaka looks fragile. Process of elimination for me.
