Astonishing how quicky the confidence in Burnes has gone from complete to nil.
That’s baseball. He needs to get back on track ASAP. A quality start at minimum today but 7 IP with 2 runs or less would be nice.

I think they win this one today and convincingly. 8-3.

SBs are basically free vs Burnes. But he's out.

So tired of watching Rutsch struggle so poorly yet he gets trotted out everyday and hits second every day. So dumb.

Yeah it's past time. Had some hope that a merely "bad" August was a modest improvement over his horrendous July and he'd get back to his usual self, but the first week of September has been as bad as July was.So tired of watching Rutsch struggle so poorly yet he gets trotted out everyday and hits second every day. So dumb.
I'd bat him between Mullins and Holliday for a while.

The issue I have is that I don't see him trying to make any adjustments. Goes out that and takes his upper cut swing every at bat. Just lost on him.

I've said this multiple times now, but I don't think the swing plane is the main problem, perhaps not even a problem. He had the same swing in April, May and June and he was hitting for high average with power. He was swinging a lot so not many walks. The issue I have is that I don't see him trying to make any adjustments. Goes out that and takes his upper cut swing every at bat. Just lost on him.
It's plausible it took pitchers half a year to find the holes in this swing, but my guess is that it's other stuff going on. Whether jts nagging injuries, just not seeing the ball right, some mechanical thing that he can't shake out of...whatever the case it's over two months of futility. That happens sometimes even to good players. Would need to be midway through next year still scuffling for me to think something permanent has happened to him. But can definitely adjust our short term usage of him to reflect the current struggles. Lower in the order and fewer (almost no) days at DH.

I'd move Mullins up to second.
Wasting a good Burnes outing.
So dang frustrating.

Wasting a good Burnes outing.
No longer an issue.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

No longer an issue.
Still 6 innings and 2 runs allowed is a good outing.
