O'Hearn starting (and playing 1B) vs a LHP? And still no update on Mountcastle?

Lefties have actually hit Heaney better than righties this year and last year. And for his career have a better AVG and OBP but lower SLG. Still, seems a bit weird to start O'Hearn against a lefty if nothing is up with Mountcastle. What update are you waiting for? I am unaware of anything weird going on with him, he finished the game last night.

Interesting. Maybe Mounty was the reason Norby was put on taxi squad. He def would be starting tonight against Heaney. Hope its not vertigo again

I just figured two days off (from starting) for Mounty would warrant an update.

Roch Kubatko says more later. Which I suppose is his way of saying he's in the process of asking (as they arrive to the park).

Glad to see Kjerstad in there; man's been a game-buster of late. Don't want him to be turned into a platooner at this early stage in his career.

He hit lefties well at AAA, so agree with you that it'd be good to see him get time against both. Hopefully the defense is good enough to keep the bat in the lineup. Not a lot of room in the RF/1B/DH side of things so taking time in LF from Cowser and Hays is his clearest path. Though Mounty has been slumping so maybe an opening there, too.

Nice snare by Westy.
Love the foul ball off the nub of the bat.
Ouch.

It was hot as hell today. Hats off to those who headed over to the park tonight.
