This feels exactly like his Rio Ruiz selection in 2012.

Maybe in a couple years we can trade him to wherever Elias ends up after he gets burnt out by the Angeloses.

Showed really well in that interview. Seems like a great kid. Will be easy to root for him.

$1.75M is just over what slot is for the 43rd pick.

I am still not excited about our draft, but feel a lot better now that it looks like they went overslot to Mayo and BaumierJeremy mentioned in another thread, but he's already signed for $1.75M compared to $566k for his slot.

I was really high on Jordan Walker's profile and was hoping he'd get to the Orioles at 30 or maybe even 39.
Coby Mayo seems to have a pretty similar profile.
They were also using the Austin Riley comp for him on the draft shows and while we don't really know what Riley will be, that feels pretty reasonable just in terms of projection.
I was trying to think of kind of a high end comp and I'll go with Troy Glaus.

All these kids are going to need to adjust to professional life, but the good news is that after a long down year, guys like Mayo are finally getting into games.
