Coaches...
Montgomery is the OC and QB coach...
Hoke is the DC and Safeties coach...
Papuchis is the STC and ILB coach...
Phillips is the Co-OC and WR coach...
Reagan is the O-Line coach...
Cowsette is the D-Line coach...
Robinson is the Defensive Passing Game Coordinator / CB coach
Williams is the OLB coach....
Brooks is the RB coach...
Miller is the TE coach...
Robinson and Brooks are recruiting assets.
MD should be looking for:
- An Asst. HC
- I'd like to see the Coordinators not additionally have position group responsibilities
- If you lost Phillips, maybe bring back Chris Beatty
Some guys I'd be looking at adding to the Coaching staff:
- Appalachian State's DC is Ted Roof (they already have two Associate HC's)
- Lewis Powell is Utah's DL Coach
- John Simon is Memphis' Recruiting Coordinator / Passing Game Coordinator / Asst. Coach / WRs

During his Tuesday news conference, Locksley reminded everyone that he considers 2019 to be “Year Zero” because of his limited ability to recruit after assuming full responsibility for the program in January.
Well, considering the 2020 class is shaping up to be less talented (at least per the recruiting services) than 2019 was, I really don't see how we're supposed to be encouraged by that quote.

TE: Okonkwo, Barnes, Jackson

Did I miss something, and Jeshaun Jones is in the transfer portal, or his ACL injury will keep him out two seasons?

Good catch, not sure how I missed that one.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

I feel LeGendre is going to have the inside track to starting...but if he isn't ready to grab it, they'll go with the experience of Jackson or Piggy.
It would be shocking to me if DeSue was to win out.
Spring Ball should be better if all 4 are healthy (and still around). Having each available for competition and reps.
It'll be a completely open competition between the 4 of them (5 if you want to throw in Bortenschlager). You don't have to take any redshirts into consideration, just let the chips fall where they may and go with your best guy. You probably already know what you have in Jackson, Pigrome, Bortenschlager, and to an extent DeSue. LeGendre is the wild card, and with a full year in the system and playing time in 3 games, he probably has the most upside. The question is whether he can make a big enough jump in the offseason to win the job.

Took another look at my projected depth chart. I'll have it in an upcoming article, but here's the two-deep for those who are curious. For this, I'm assuming DJ Turner and Terrance Davis come back after taking redshirts, but I haven't put Tino Ellis in. I've also moved Breyon Gaddy to defense while keeping Austin Fontaine on offense.
QB: 1. Josh Jackson, 2. Tyrrell Pigrome
RB: 1. Anthony McFarland, Jr., 2. Javon Leake
WR-X: 1. Dontay Demus, Jr., 2. Darryl Jones
WR-Z: 1. Jeshaun Jones, 2. Sean Nelson
WR-H: 1. DJ Turner, 2. Brian Cobbs
TE: 1. Chigoziem Okonkwo, 2. Noah Barnes
LT: 1. Jaelyn Duncan, 2. TJ Bradley
LG: 1. Evan Gregory, 2. Parris Heath
C: 1. Johnny Jordan, 2. Austin Fontaine
RG: 1. Terrance Davis, 2. Jack Wagman
RT: 1. Marcus Minor, 2. Spencer Anderson
DE: 1. Lawtez Rogers, 2. Tyler Baylor
NT: 1. Brandon Gaddy, 2. Breyon Gaddy
DT: 1. Sam Okuayinonu, 2. Jalen Alexander
SLB: 1. Ahmad McCullough, 2. Kameron Blount
MLB: 1. Chance Campbell, 2. Tanyi Makia
WLB: 1. Ayinde Eley, 2. Fa'Najae Gotay
JACK: 1. Shaq Smith, 2. Bryce Brand
FCB: 1. Kenny Bennett, 2. Erwin Byrd

Does DeJuan Ellis, yet another VT transfer, figure to make the 2-deep WR group?
And is there any concern Johnny Jordan might not return after sitting out the last two games with "personal issues?"
