Probably going to see a lot of offense in this one.
On paper, it would seem that way but who knows. The Orioles have an uncanny knack for making lousy pitchers look like Cy Young on the mound.

I think we win tonight big.
Might be a problem for us lol

Come on. Keep Mateo at SS. Frazier doesnt need to play
I have a feeling they made some sort of guarantee to Frazier.
I think we should play this infield 85% of the time.
O'Hearn/Santander/Urias at 1B
Westburg 2B
Mateo SS
Henderson 3B

Yeah I've heard they "feel obligated" to play Frazier. Bunch of nonsense. Just a stupid signing from the get go. A stupid way to spend that % of the payroll.

I don't like moving these young guys all over the place in the field. Give them a position and make it there's. That's what utility players are for, not your every day roster. I get the feeling Hyde has a royal hard on for flexibility, whether it makes sense or not. I think he's doing a disservice to Henderson and Westburg because it's hard enough adjusting to major league pitching than have to worry about fielding a different position every night.

Yeah, who could have guessed in December that they had an excess of middle infielders and might prefer other people to play?

It's an organizational philosophy for sure. I can certainly see the benefit of it. I think it's way too early to dismiss it entirely as a bust. I see the concerns, I share them to a degree, but we'll see how it goes.
It is kind of odd, though, to do the defensive flexibility thing, while giving Mateo and Frazier this much run and citing defense and leadership as the reasons why.

Tampa's had the positional flexibility for years.
One advantage is that you are seemingly better prepared to handle injuries (or slumps).
But it's hard to see players maximizing their defensive abilities at any one position when they are regularly shuffled.
