Now that Henderson is showing signs of life at the plate, Adley's officially in a free fall. It would be nice to see him have a multi-hit game tonight. Even scarier is Mateo. Hitting .106 for the month of May (7-66).

Don't agree that two bad series means he's officially in free fall. He still managed 6 walks in the past 6 games despite the 3/25.
May for him has basically been bad week (7 games, 613 OPS), good week (9 games, 1180 OPS), bad week (6 games,410 OPS). Overall still fine at a 755 OPS. Everyone can panic as much as they like, but its hard to take seriously sometimes. Agree that it'd be great to see him catch fire again.
Mike Trout has had a 3/20 and a 5/40 stretch already this season. Aaron Judge has had a 2/18 and a 4/24. Its baseball. Not every week is lightning.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Yeah, it's cool that Adley still draws walks. That was the one saving grace with Henderson during his struggles. But still, a .225 batting average for the month of May is not exactly lighting it up for someone who's talent level says he should be doing better than that.

"not exactly lighting it up" is a fine way to describe his month so far.

He but it’s not abnormal, it’s baseball, see Mackus above.
This is his worst career OPS month after his first 10 games. 755. League average is .727. I can live with that.

As you said, it's baseball. In the first week of the season, a number of posters wanted Hays gone, then it was Santander; they both have recovered very nicely. Although the jury is still out on Rodriguez, he too may recover from the lambasting he received on these pages.

I guess I'm too old fashioned for you guys. For me, batting average still means something, although I know hitters today don't give a rat's ass about it. I think he should be hitting better than .225 for a whole month of games. Hey, I hope he gets red hot and stays that way. Only time will tell.

Rutschman is hitting 262. He hit 254 last year.

It's baseball. Every play has both good and bad streaks. Adley included.

I like this lineup. A heavy LH attack to go against Gray.
