Good overview here. Seems like getting Haskins to commit early is the key to really building the class.

It is Signing Day 2015, and the MD '15 Class will be around 50th overall in the country, middle of the pack in the Big Ten.
Lots of talk about the depth of the local '16 talent.... hope for the 'DMV to UMD' movement.
Always have to have recruiting success, but seems magnified that much more for '16.
Whoever is in charge of the MD program at this time next year, has to have success with this class. Continue to think the key is getting an early commit from Haskins, but that seems unlikely.

Allow me to save everyone a lot of wondering and disappointment over the next year....
- At various times, MD will be connected to lots of great recruits
- Many of them will visit MD and comment on how much they like the school, program, coaches, etc.
- Tweets will go out espousing the slogan du jour about how UM is going to be the next big thing
- Mass hysteria among the fanbase ensues
- As Signing Day approaches, the overwhelming majority of those names gravitate towards the usual suspects among programs
- MD signs a recruiting class rated somewhere in the 40s
Rinse. Repeat.

I liked this, because it's funny... and there is a lot of historical truth here.
There is talent to be had. If MD is ever going to take a leap as a program, they have to capture more of it... regardless of who is in charge.
I guess I do believe that just because things have been a certain way historically, that doesn't mean things have to stay the same.... but you have to do things differently.
I can see this quickly becoming another Edsall referendum thread which I would like to avoid... would rather focus on the prospects, and MD's chances.... but I understand that is hard to do, until you believe in the overall direction of things.

The DMV is continuing its unprecedented run of dominance producing offensive linemen. DeMatha and Archbishop Carroll are stacked. Terps may not have to move into the midwest for linemen quite yet, but eventually that change will come.

4-star DeMatha WR Tino Ellis will be at the Maryland-Indiana men's basketball game tomorrow night. I'm sure other 2016 targets will be there as well.

Hopefully the ass-kicking the Terps are likely to receive won't dissuade any of the potential recruits.

"Well obviously everyone knows who Stefon Diggs is. I knew him before I even got my offer from them," Washington said. "I learned how human the coaches are, and how down to earth they are. They're serious about their recruiting, and they're serious about recruiting me. It's how seriously they take their program. That's what I like about Maryland."
