4-star OT J.P. Urquidez from DeMatha committed to Baylor last night. He is originally from Texas, and was expected by most analysts to commit to either Baylor, Texas, or Texas A&M.

 

4-star OT Jauan Williams from Archbishop Carroll tweeted today that he has "no leaders" for his recruitment. Maryland is right in the thick of things with Ohio State, Florida, and Alabama for him.

Terps have gotten a number of players to commit to them over the Tide. Much better chance for playing time in College Park.

I certainly haven't heard anything throughout this entire process that even hinted otherwise. It's always been Maryland for him.

Get him locked in, and the whole class can take off. I would expect if he says yes to MD, all of the other locals we are hoping for start falling in-line.

If he goes elsewhere, it will be a disaster.   Sucks to say 'disaster' for any one recruit, but Haskins represents more than his own ability in this case.

It'd be nice to get a QB prospect the like of Haskins, and the momentum it could build for other recruits. Of course, the Terps fan in me says it's still 9 months until the next Signing Day, and the other programs are not going to back off one bit just because these kids give a verbal "commitment."
