Hearing from a source that it's a done deal.
Press conference later today.
Yep, breaking in multiple spots as official now. Reports of unanimous decision from the Board of Regents.

Unanimous....wow. Yesterday the indication was there was a lot of dissension. Guess the argument for doing this was overwhelming.Yep, breaking in multiple spots as official now. Reports of unanimous decision from the Board of Regents.

Either that or the dissenters were outnumbered and just wanted to put up a front that they were united. Either way, it's a good thing. Regardless of how anyone personally feels about the switch, if they had botched this due to internal squabbling and disagreement, it would have been yet another humiliating episode for UM.Yep... I didn't think that it wouldn't pass, but I'm surprised it was unanimous.

It will be interesting to see how the MD fan changes their tune about Big10 bball and if they end up thinking its better than the ACC and things like that.
All talk is about the ACC on this board and other MD related sports boards...Now, it goes to the B10...what will the "turn" be like?

According to ACC bylaws, it would be for the 2014-15 seasons. But as we've seen, anything is negotiable. When will they join?

I'll never enjoy the slow down, 50-point games, more than the faster pace of ACC play.It will be interesting to see how the MD fan changes their tune about Big10 bball and if they end up thinking its better than the ACC and things like that.

I just want to contend for title's, I personally don't care much how we do it. I mean, obviously I'd prefer a more higher tempo, but I'm not someone who doesn't also enjoy a defensive slow, paced gridlock game either. Those can be just as intense.I'll never enjoy the slow down, 50-point games, more than the faster pace of ACC play.
However, it seems like when there are good Big 10 teams that end up competing nationally, a lot of times those are higher scoring teams. Ohio St, Indiana, Michigan State, and others can all score when needed.
Maybe Maryland can continue to be an up-temp, enjoyable team to watch and still have success in the Big 10.
If Gary was still the coach, I'd have no doubt that the style and system would remain the same. Turgeon seems a bit more willing to adapt his style, he went slow-down with A&M for personnel reasons for a couple years, so maybe he'll evolve more into the traditional Big 10 slow style. I hope that he doesn't and keeps building the Terps as a team that wants to score in the mid to upper 70s.

I think it could've been unanimous for unity purposes moreso than how regents actually felt. They knew it was going to be pass, might as well be a consensus.Unanimous....wow. Yesterday the indication was there was a lot of dissension. Guess the argument for doing this was overwhelming.
