Risk-free upgrade. I'll take it.

Yep, pointing to Sessions bad season so far on a team that is a dumpster fire internally doesn't say much to me.

Miller hit his ceiling like a month ago. And now the Wiz get a $2.5 mill trade exemption which joins another $2.1 mill TE (I think I have that right)

AND still gives them an open roster spot for another wing coming in from overseas/buyouts

I think it was Zach Lowe on the BS Report I was listening to who said that George Karl is absolutely in love with Andre Miller.

Apparently that's the case :P

Wittman said lineup changes were coming after last night.

Really? You going to start Blair and Webster over Gortat and Pierce?

He has got to go.

Uh, Guys? I Think The Wizards Forgot To Fire Randy Wittman?

But, on a nightly basis, one of the opponents the Wizards compete against—in addition to, y'know, those guys with the other-colored shirts—is the observable and abundantly well-documented fact that offensive efficiency on a basketball court is a thing that exists. That's a battle Wittman has them fighting, on purpose, by design, and on top of their normal work duties. If Wittman is Ahab, reality is his white whale. How talented would the Wizards have to be to kill it?

He's atrocious at coaching up offense.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

"Now OPS sucks. Got it."

"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

I'm going tonight and missing the MD game. If the Wiz lose by 30 send McNulty to fish me out of the Potomac.

After a hard fought game with Golden State, but a loss, now you turn around and lay an egg against the T'Wolves? Jesus. They are just lost.

Losing by 20 to the Twolves? Really?

You've lost 10 of 12. The last quality win was a month and a half ago. Since that win, the team is 6-13. The schedule was soft in the early part of that and the wins have come against Brooklyn (2), Philly, Denver, LA, and Orlando. You just lost by 20 against one of the worst teams in the league.

Wittman isn't the entire problem, but to me, this is exposing that overall, he is a problem. There's zero chance of him getting the full amount out of a team. He's an old school, hard headed, "we take open 18 footers" coach. This team is talented enough in an overall weak conference that when things are going well, he doesn't look like an awful coach. But he's going to get outcoached most evenings.

Beal being out hurts. Temple getting his minutes means less spacing on the court, less players that can create for themselves/others, and of course more perimeter shots going to a worse shooter.

They have a lot to figure out.

I just saw on Twitter that the Wiz are in the top 4 teams in taking long jump shots. The other 3 teams are the Wolves, Lakers, and Knicks. Fine company.

Zero offensive creativity. Jumper after jumper after jumper with John Wall as your PG. AWFUL.

If anyone wants to catch a Wiz game this weekend since they're so exciting right now, you can take advantage of the Living Social and take a trip up to Philly.

https://www.livingso...id=23-baltimore

You also get the bonus of a meet and greet with the player with the best name ever: World B. Wiz should have fired Wittman and hired George Karl last offseason, but they put sentiment over making the right long-term decision. As was mentioned in the article that DJ posted, it's very rare that an interim coach ends up being the long-term coach that leads to winning. Frank Vogel in Indiana may be a recent exception to that, but he had no history of success or lack thereof in his past. Wittman has one of the worst winning percentages in NBA history - sure, that's not all his fault given the bad teams he's coached, but still.

Wizards really had a chance to build something special, but blowing their load on Gortat and keeping Wittman really hurt. They can still sign KD in 2016 and I do think there's at least a 50/50 chance that he comes back to D.C. from what I've heard, but they haven't maximized how lucky they've gotten with Beal and Wall.
