Was just pondering how many cuts we are going to see today where vaccination status COULD be playing a part. Lots of talk around teams this past week about protocols and key players, like starting QB. I can't imagine that this could be the MAJOR reason for cutting someone, but I could see if there was already a conversation about it this being a factor.
People are already talking about what happens when playoffs roll around or another must win game, and your unvaxxed player has to go into unvax quarantine because they are a close contact. It's just much longer than the vaxxed quarantine and could be the difference between missing a couple practice reps and missing 2 games.
I guess cut players will have more time to read up on it and make a decision that is right for them. If you are a team rolling with an unvaxxed starting QB who hasn’t found the time to read more about it, or take 5 seconds to ask team doctors who are taping you up every single day what their opinion is on it, then I would be giving my backup QB a lot of reps this year if you have postseason aspirations. Lamar, Allen, Cousins, probably Brady. Probably some more guys I don’t even know. I would be yanking them in blowouts early and often and letting backups do more than kill the clock, even if it means running up the score. For the Ravens, I don’t want Huntley having to start a playoff game with 28 regular season snaps and only 5 pass attempts under his belt like he had last year when asked to enter the Bills game and mount a comeback.
