Its still hot.I don't think it's a problem that the O's are HR dependent with the number of HRs that they keep hitting.
I do worry about the offense when the weather cools off and obviously the pitching gets better in the playoffs.

Perfect night for baseball. I've been heckling the shit out of Billy Hamilton tonight. He turned back and laughed when I asked him about the JLaw pics.
Could Hamilton make it to second before you or I made it to first?

Unfortunately we won't be seeing the Reds pitching staff in the postseason.
We've been crushing even the best pitchers this year.

It is what it is. Hopefully it works. Otherwise it's like that last trip where McLouth was our entire offense.Unfortunately we won't be seeing the Reds pitching staff in the postseason. We've been crushing even the best pitchers this year.

The weather could have a negative effect I suppose

That could have been a lot worse than it was.

Now that I know that Caleb's ok, I've moved on to being disappointed that the flying helmet didn't land right back on his head, or one of the guys in pit there.

So we're giving up hits now?
Gonzo's demoted to longman in the postseason.

BTW....right now I'm fairly comfortable with Tillman and Gonzo as our 1 and 2 starters in the postseason rotation.
We know it's not ideal, but I'm comfortable with it.
I think if the guys know that their job is to go just 6 innings, that they'll do an even better job of getting through those 6 with as few runs as possible. They've gone deeper since May and beyond anyways, that's not a problem anymore, but these all seem like guys who are able to buckle down when needed, however sometimes that causes them to tire early. Well in the postseason, that's fine. Just keep scoring to a minimum. Needing to go to the pen in the 6th or 7th is not really a big problem.

Youre right , but I think that really applies to Tillman and Gonzo. Chen to an extent, but his propensity to give up HRs is a bit scary.I think if the guys know that their job is to go just 6 innings, that they'll do an even better job of getting through those 6 with as few runs as possible. Norris and Gaus I just don't trust as much to buckle down. I think they are just more inconsistent in general.
Norris and Gausman have a tendency to lose effectiveness pretty early, they don't do a great job of buckling down during that last inning. I do think both have that bulldoggish mentality early in games, though. They can each work through a jam, largely because they are the two guys who are probably most likely to strike someone out. I'd certainly agree that those two get less rope than the others. I think it'll be one of those guys in the bullpen role, and I think both can be really effective in 2-3 innings stints if we need to go to the pen in the 4th or 5th at some point.
