I've grown to accept that if a player's last name is NOT Smith, they will struggle.
I did radio for a very brief time in the mid 90s, and one thing I ALWAYS did was try and go over the names I was to pronounce before I went on..
You'd think with a few hours to prepare WITH ACCESS to the lineup, they'd at least look at it and perhaps try to ask someone, maybe in the Reds PR department how to pronounce a name that looks difficult.
But what do I know.
They do it in college sports for those announcers....I can't believe they don't do it for professional announcers.
