Apparently it was 99 years ago today that the Cleveland Indians became the first MLB team to put numbers on their uniforms.

That's news to me... I thought it was the early '30's that they did that...
EDIT: Oh, I see... they tried little numbers on their sleeves, and then promptly quit doing that. For big numbers on the back, it was CLE... in 1929... who were first only because the MFY's got rained out...

I couldn't believe they named the team the Diamondbacks... they should've known that wouldn't fit worth a damn on a shirt ...

Has that franchise, quickly approaching 20 years old, ever had a good uniform set?

Those are just godawful.
Has that franchise, quickly approaching 20 years old, ever had a good uniform set?
No.
They should trade us Paul Goldschmidt.
They can have Trumbo.

Right... because the Giants should have named their home city something else...
Trivia: no team from Philadelphia has ever had that entire word on their shirt....

I was just pointing out that you can fit a 12 letter name on a jersey. 13 with the space.
And about Philly....false

The space makes it more readable... when they do Diamondbacks as one long word, it's not the same...
And about Philly....false
OMG! You're right... (It's from the Small Print Department... but still...)
"PHILA" has happened much more... in multiple sports....but just one occurrence does mean "never" is wrong...

Bloomberg: Why Under Armour Is Paying Big Ten Money to Sponsor Yale Sports
Under Armour announced a new deal with Yale Athletics Monday, and while the terms were not officially disclosed, a person with knowledge of them said the Baltimore-based apparel company will pay $16.5 million to outfit the Bulldogs for the next 10 years.
That’s more per year than Nike Inc. pays to outfit Rutgers or Illinois, according to the Portland Business Journal’s contract database, and dwarfs the $460,000 Nike pays Iowa State -- all major-conference programs whose basketball and football teams regularly appear on national TV, giving their sponsors’ logos valuable visibility across the U.S.
Whoa.

A bunch of new Spring Training Uni's this year. Nice to see the O's bring back the all black hat, still like the Cartoon bird but I also like the all black hat.

The White Sox jersey is cool. The Dodgers hat is blasphemous.
If they don't get a picture of Tom Selleck wearing that hat, the franchise should be contracted.

The White Sox will get themselves a good logo one of these days... maybe.
That one is nice, but it's got so much going on that it needs the real estate of a jersey...
Does that Dodger hat make you think Douche... or is that just me?

Check out this Nationals concept logo that Twitter user @causleyconcepts created. If I were the Nats, I'd be on the phone with him right now with my checkbook:
PS: Hey guys, what's new?
