That comma is what makes the whole thing.

You know Buck was like, "Make sure there's a comma after 2014."

5 division titles in 6 years, Beatles still making new music, women a lot more sexually liberal....

To have been alive in the late 60s.....

subtle, yet confident.

It's great that they erased the period that Syd Thrift had added after 1997.

Also, since I decided to do some bored math:

From 1969-1976 there were six teams in the American League Eastern Division. From 1977-1993 there were seven, and from 1995-2014 there have been five. Altogether, going with the idea that each team could win their division an "average" number of times over that 45-year span, an average team should have won the Eastern Division seven times.

The Orioles have won it nine.

One of my favorite little stories is Boog Powell describing how he and some teammates would walk into Colts games with airline liquor bottles in old fifty-caliber machine-gun belts under their coats.

Try to do that today and you'll be speaking with Department of Homeland Security instead of just ballpark security.

Man, I should have come look for you guys, I was in there but just had one beer before we had to leave and try to scalp our seats (my buddy got hooked up with second row tickets through work at the last minute so we sat there).

Yea you should've.  We were at the bar pretty close to when you walk in.

I thought about trying to smuggle bubbly in but decided not to.  Zach Britton shared his beer with me...that was enough.

When JJ Hardy was being interviewed I yelled to him to throw me his beer, but he told me that there wasn't much left.

Last night was so awesome. Got choked up driving to work this morning as it sunk in and I remembered the last time we won the division I was watching games with my grandmom who passed away in '03. She would've been so happy last night.

Three cheers for grandmoms who watch baseball....

Best game of my life.

Yeah one of the best sporting events I've been to. My uncle was able to get tickets 14 rows behind home plate through an organization he volunteers with.

On a side note for many years, all I wanted was the O's to be playing "real" baseball on my birthday. So this was really something.

I took this picture last night to remind myself another banner would soon to be added, hopefully even better than a division championship.

5 division titles in 6 years,

Hello?  It was 4 World Series in 6 years... that's what counts... even if you don't win them, you got there.

The division flags in '73 and '74 were not satisfying.

Beatles still making new music, women a lot more sexually liberal....

To have been alive in the late 60s.....

Heh...

But there was also Vietnam... for no good reason... with kids from every neighborhood going (not just a few volunteers carrying it all while everybody else stayed home and had fun like happens now)... ~60K of them never came home, and everybody knew some of them... half of them got killed *after* Nixon said it would be over just as soon as he got "peace with honor" [*spit*]... which he never got... and Tactical Squad cops swinging nightsticks at you when you bitched about it... so, there's that too...

My birthday is in early November, so the only chance I have at a ballpark birthday is a game 7 of the WS if the calendar happens to shake out that way.
