Hopefully Bud can start being a little sharper as we get into the middle innings. Not looking his best, though no damage so far.

This is undoubtedly true, but that was about as routine as it gets.

Sure, but bad defensive teams butcher routine plays all the time.

Caleb stinks offensively, but he'll take a walk now and then. Higher BB% than Machado, Hardy, Schoop, and of course, Adam Jones.

Not really. The range from highest and lowest defensive efficiency in the league is 66-72% The range for fielding percentage is .980-.988.
Routine plays get made almost every single time. These are major leaguers, even the ones on bad teams. They almost never butcher routine plays, certainly not "all the time".
