It's kinda cute, the lengths Buck will go to in order to not embarrass his vets.

Awesome to know we'll be watching Schoop and Joseph every night in September trying to fend off NY and Tor. And if we're lucky there, facing Det and Oak in October.

Well done DD. Well done.

I hadn't heard that MLB passed a rule today that you couldn't make trades in August.  Surprised nobody reported that, I've had MLB network on all day.

And who the hell do you think we'll get in Aug. Some Thome like scrub if we are lucky.

We certainly won't get a good enough C to pass through waivers. Were stuck with Joseph and Hundley there.

Which 2b are going to get through?? A. Hill and a DFA Roberts seem like the only real options. DD won't be allowed to take on Hill.

Also, since June began, Caleb Joseph has a 666 OPS (228/289/377).  Still a good bit below league average at C (700) and Suzuki (753), but not absolutely unbearable.

Who was available at C?  I wanted Suzuki, even though he stinks defensively, but obviously the Twins wouldn't play ball as they signed him to a contract extension rather than trade him.  Who else is out there at C?

I don't think we could get Zobrist or Murphy without giving up Bundy.  Asdrubal Cabrera would've been interesting to me, I don't know enough about the guy the Nats gave up to get him to know if we should've been offering more.  But guys like Bonafacio who got dealt should still be available in August.  There really wasn't a lot out there at 2B.

I don't know. At this point I'm wondering if we could get Zobrist just by asking particularly nicely.

Oh and Baltimore should absolutely bring Roberts back if possible.

Hes clearly better offensively. Could easily OPS over .700 the last two months. Also helps overall OBP and team speed.

BTW...rWAR has his dWAR at 0.7 this season.

Clear upgrade, but you have to think NY knows there is a good chance we will be interested and they'll ship him to SF or Oak for a bag of balls.

Calhoun is purposely making Norris wait before each pitch. I think that's BS. The ump shouldn't ever allow that.

Nice start by Bud.

Trout up with 1 out... kept him under control so far these two series... hopefully don't jinx us tonight.
