Be nice to steal this one tonight and take 2/3 -- or sweep -- the Yankees to go into the ASB.
Our schedule is brutal until mid-August after the break. We have to take advantage of these opportunities.

.524 (85-win pace) combined opponent's winning percentage over the next 3 games.
.561 (91-win pace) combined opponent's winning percentage over the first 23 games after the break.
Definitely a brutal stretch after the break.
However, once that stretch is over, it's possible we don't play another team with a winning record the rest of the season aside from a 3-game set with Cincinnati. Depends on what happens with the Blue Jays and Yankees (Encarnacion and possibly Tanaka being out are killers for them), but starting on August 11th our only opponents are the Indians (.489), White Sox (.478), Cubs (.422), Twins (.456), Reds (.538), and then the AL East teams the Blue Jays (.516), Yankees (.511), Red Sox (.440), and Rays (.447).
If by the second week of August we're still near the top of the AL East, I think it's ours. The final 45 games are as easy of a stretch as we'll probably ever have over a third of a season.

It hit me last night...I don't know if I hadn't been thinking about it that much or what, but the AL East is ours for the taking. All the other teams aren't dead yet, but we're definitely sitting pretty right now when you factor in the injuries the other teams have been dealing with.

Yup. Tampa and Boston are cooked but could play spoiler.
The Yankees rotation is currently Brandon McCarthy, David Phelps, Ricker, Robert Fick and Mackus.
Toronto's pitching is regressing and they've lost their best hitter for a month.
As long as we don't trip over ourselves (not easy to do) we should win this division.

Again, would really like to go into the break with momentum. 3 of 4 would be great.

I like how Wieters has stayed with the team, and is often in the dugout. Not enough to make me want to see him extended... but still good to see imo.

Chen amused me as he walked to the dugout.

I totally expected Matt to still spend a good amount of time with the team. Hes that type of team guy.
