Os fans overrating Manny. He could easily be a low .700 OPS guy for his career. If he is he loses his value quickly as A. That reality sets in and B. He becomes more and more expensive.
It's not me or anyone else (including an Asst GM of another org) overrating Manny. It's looking at his age, project-ability, what he's already accomplished, and his contract. He's easily one of the 10 most valuable commodities.
I firmly disagree that he could easily be a low .700 OPS guy for his career.
I do understand the legitimate worry about his poor/horrible obp so far in his career... but I think that will change.
