I agree it looked easier than the Gardner call, but don't agree it looked conclusive.
There aren't often multiple plays that would be reviewed, so if you think you can get it overturned even if it's not a big play, it can be worth a shot. But getting a runner at 3rd with 0 outs erased is a much bigger reward than erasing a guy at 1st with 1 out. Likely a better shot of being overturned than yesterday's call, but less of a reward for the risk as well.
