Obviously there is no right answer, but I'd go with:
PG: Magic ($5)
SG: MJ ($5)
SF: Pippen ($1)
PF: KG ($1)
C: Wilt ($3)
Gives me enough offense between Magic, MJ and Wilt, Pippen as my elite on the ball defender and KG helping to spread the floor on offense and adding elite defense.
I can't believe you took Pippen!

If I have to go by the strict positions here the correct answer is Isiah, MJ,LBJ, Garnett, and Hakeem.
Getting Garnett and Olajuwon at the 4 and 5 for $2 is ridiculous. Probably to the best all around players at both PF and C.
I hope Thomas doesn't freeze MJ out!
Hakeem is great, but once again, is not someone I'd love offensively on a stacked team like this. I want a better passer and someone who doesn't take as much time with the ball to score.
And Nickle took LeBron!

And called him versatile (aka, unselfish) enough to play with MJ!! Wow.

My thought process is too many scorers looking for the ball with MJ and LBJ, so I went pure point guard to distribute the ball, MJ, pure shooter for outside stuff in Bird, Duncan because I think he's a better defender than Garnett, and Hakeem cause he's the most balanced of the centers.
LBJ is still the #1 option in Miami so we dont really know how he would do if he didnt get to touch the ball as much. Pretty good assumption hed be ok cause he is diverse, but a good argument against.
LeBron would fit in better with a team like this than most of these guys. He brings better D than most, he's one of the better passers in the group (and can play the point), he's one of the least selfish players in the group, he's arguably the best athlete in the group so he can help with fast breaks, cutting to the basket, alley-oops, and crashing the boards when he doesn't have the ball, plus, he's actually probably the 4th or 5th best floor spacer in the group.

Here's another combo that I like: James, MJ, Pippen, Dirk, Shaq.
MJ and Shaq is a better version of Kobe and Shaq, Dirk is the ultimate stretch 4, Pippen, MJ, and James would be a terror defending the other teams 1-3, and James/Pippen can run the point with the former helping to space the floor some too.

You still take the two greatest ever. LBJ is diverse enough to play next to MJ.
Honestly, even if I cheated like Weber, and could take any 5 I would take LBJ, MJ, Garnett, and Olajuwon. The only difference I would make would be to get a good shooter on a wing. So , I'd take Durant instead of Isiah.
Wait, are you saying that LeBron is the second greatest ever?

Haha, I still think he is extremely overrated, but you cannot deny how great a defensive player he was. And considering he's playing with the best PG, SG and C in NBA history I have no problem putting him on the team for $1. But he better not shoot, like ever haha.

Webber, you need a PG. Those are the rules.

I still think MJ and LeBron on the same team is asking for trouble. LeBron is a very unselfish player, but he'd have to be willing to be the clear second fiddle on offense to MJ, and I'm not sure a player of his caliber would want to do that.

That picture isn't clear with having to take one from each group. I have someone who will play point, he's also has played plenty of point on offense in the NBA.

OMG....would you just pick a team with players from each category.

Isn't that going to be an issue with almost any roster you put together from this grouping? Do you think Wilt wants to be second fiddle? Or even some of the cheap guys like Shaq, Hakeem, Durant, Bird (not cheap), etc? LeBron is more likely to be amenable to it compared to most of these guys.

Why? And why do you care so much?

Yea my one issue is Wilt with MJ. I have Magic, Pippen and KG who should all be pretty acclimated at knowing their roles on the team. Basically Wilt and MJ can split the touches lol.

I still dislike him.
So he ranks in the top 2 players you'd want on your team in NBA history? That's what a different quote suggested.
