So apparently Pele isn't lighting the flame. So...who does? Gisele?

Do you enjoy anything?
There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Whoops! USA Basketball players 'accidentally' wander into Rio brothel.
Pretty funny read.

Some useful links:
NBC Olympics web site: http://www.nbcolympics.com - Information including TV broadcast and live stream schedules, video clips, results, etc.
Official Rio 2016 site, English version: http://www.rio2016.com/en - Self-explanatory.
BBC Olympics site: http://www.bbc.com/s...ympics/rio-2016 - British-centric, of course, but chock-full of good stuff.
IOC site: http://www.olympic.org - Self-explanatory.
Quoting myself for the benefit of all.

I'd expect Canada playing beach volleball to be the the equivelnt of Brazil playing ice hockey. But it's actually close.

Hey, you'd be surprised how much volleyball you can get in during a two-week season.

First gold medal of the Olympics, out of everyone, went to a 19-year-old woman from West Virginia who discovered a love for shooting five years ago when her grandfather took her on a hunting trip, beating two Chinese women in the final.
NBC gets a lot of deserved crap for their constant and annoying narrativization of the Olympics, but that's still really awesome.

I knew in the back of my mind that it had happened, and this was coming, but it was still quite jarring to turn on NBC this morning and hear Mike Tirico.

Yeah, saw that before I had to run an errand. Good times.

It's a shame handball isn't as popular in the U.S. as it seems to be elsewhere. Really fun to watch.
