Why no Wieters?

I take it nothing is up with Wieters and Buck is just giving him two off-days in a row?

No DL for Hardy?

No DL for Hardy?
Not yet. Roch just tweeted they DFA'd Pearce, so that was the move for Mac.

Ugh just DL Hardy already.

Ugh just DL Hardy already.
Why?
If he's gonna be back in 4-5 days, why suffer for another 10 if you don't need to? If you expect him to be out 8, 9, or 10 days (which they clearly don't), then it makes sense to DL him and take the hit of having 4-5 days where he's ready but not allowed to play.
The injury is unrelated to his back injury, so the "should've DL'd him and let him fully heal up" argument doesn't hold much water.

Probably mostly unrelated since it's a small sample, but he's 2-11 with a walk and 4 K's career against Dickey. Not a bad idea to make sure he's fully healthy against a guy he hasn't had success against anyways.

Is a Hammy unrelated to the back? If I'm not mistaken, a lot of times they tend to be related due to overcompensation. With a hammy and a back both being things that tend to nag, maybe he should take some extra rest just to be sure.

If you're positive about that, sure.
I read somewhere he hurt his hammy compensating for his back being all out of whack.

Good call.

I'd like to knock Bobby Dicks all over the park tonight. I hate the Blue Jays, I hate their fans, their players, and their stupid eye sore of a stadium.
Good town, though.

They've always been "My Yankees", I just can't stand them either...1989-1993 they broke our hearts time after time after time after time....

I read something similar, but I think it was just in a game thread here with someone speculating as to if the two were related. Gotta be careful about the source.
The O's do a real good job, IMO, of giving people time off when they are hurt. These guys want to play through injuries sometimes, and that's fine too, but they don't seem to rush them back even if they really need them. Everything is related in some degree, sure, but I think it's questionable to argue that either 1) JJ's hammy injury was directly related to the back issues or 2) 15 days off instead of the 6 he got would mean that he wouldn't have suffered the hamstring injury.

The Rogers Center remains the only stadium to use "Sliding pits" instead of a full dirt infield.

But he wasn't getting the game because Cito was a bigger dick.
