Once again, Chen's up 0-2 and Wieters has called two straight FB and finally a change up on the 1-2 pitch.

Nice change to get Ross swinging to end the inning. Be nice to mix those in once in a while, especially when you've basically thrown nothing but FB all game.

Schoop is going to bless us with a HR here in the 2nd.

Chen isn't forced by law to throw the pitch Wieters suggests. Also, the suggestions are based on their gameplan that they agreed upon before the game.
Also, if you can get away with it, nothing wrong with using one approach the first time through the lineup then altering it subsequent times through.

Well we've hit a couple balls hard early, just not finding any gaps yet.

This I really believe in. Always better to not show everything the first time through.

Well that was a quick inning.

That was fast.
This is frustrating, but it isn't on the individual players. They shouldn't be changing the approaches that got them here and are the reason they are successful hitters. You can't turn a free-swinging guy like everyone on this roster is into a patient hitter. It's the roster makeup, we'll be more successful being aggressive than if they all try to do things they aren't really capable of doing.

So long Delmon.
I just can't bring myself to be a fan of Young's. Wish Reimold was healthy enough to be the bat off the bench.

Now an infield hit...
Chen getting dinked to death. Bogaerts probably the hardest hit ball so far today, maybe Pedroia, but nothing has been hit particularly hard yet.

We've been saying it since 2012. It would be nice to add some players to the lineup with patience who can work the count, yet since then we've added Nelson Cruz, David Lough, Delmon Young, Michael Morse, and other random spare parts. No one with any real particular skill at being patient.

Schoop lucky. Should've ate it.
All these weak hits for Boston.
Might have had a better chance had he let Hardy take a shot at it. Tough play nonetheless.
