Good writing  :P .

As a 4 hour mini series or even a movie, I think the subject matter of S2 would have been fine. There were some cool ideas and scenes, but stretched out over 8-10 hours or whatever it was, the weaknesses in everything -- writing and acting especially -- became that much more glaring.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

I really like Mahershala Ali, I'll try to give it a chance.  Season 2 was so bad though.

Season 2 was a mess overall but there were some good moments and a couple good performances.

I'll certainly give Season 3 a chance if it makes it to air.

Season 3 is official and they landed Jeremy Saulnier as the director which is pretty awesome. Go check out Blue Ruin and Green Room, two of the best thrillers of the last couple years. He's a perfect fit for the series.

Now this is exciting.

I know it didn't go over well but I really enjoyed Season 2.  Yeah parts were corny (don't be such a try-hard, Pizzolatto) but loved watching it.

I've been watching The Sinner recently. Anyone who liked True Detective would love this show as well. It's excellent.

I didn't see the second episode last night but the first one was really good and you can tell that they are trying to get back to the roots of the show from the first season.

They aired two episodes last night? April 14th looming large.

I’ll probably watch them tonight or tomorrow.

Yea, they went back to back.

I didn't realize it, so I only taped the one at the time.

LOVED the first two episodes, so many potential directions, all of them interesting. Ali's performance is unsurprisingly great, his non-verbal facial gestures, pauses, and grunts speak just as loud as his words.

He is a great actor. Never seen him in anything where he wasn’t really good. Usually the best person on camera in any particular scene.

Last night’s episode was one of the best of the series. Great action scene to open it and I loved the old man reunion towards the end.
