This will be the most interesting, or anticipated address since Billick was emasculated in front of the media!  I hope SB is as frank now as he was then!

I think the more coachspeak we hear, the more likely major major changes are coming.

Thought it was interesting/good to hear that Harbaugh doesn't want to get into playcalling today.

http://www.csnbaltim...ing-play-caller

What surprises me about this is that he doesn't get stronger coordinators in though.  Guys that will help him with in game stuff.  He obviously sees himself as the head coach, providing direction and vision and keeping the ship moving.  Something that even Bnickle probably would recognize he brings to the table.

But if that's you, can't you take some risks, bring in some gurus, or some guys that will take some chances or help you improve your in game decisions?  It seems like Harbaugh recognizes his role.  But his 'old school' mentality pervades.  I guess you get what you get in that sense though.

Chris ...this article is speculation based off the press conference. Ozzie described extending players with a year left. That describes the Suggs situation to a T. I'd be very surprised if Terell doesn't extend here.

Chris ...I really think the Ravens will get a deal done with Pitta. I think other teams will be cautious due to the severity of his injury.

Seems lazy to not also dig up how many snaps he lined up at WR compared to TE in 2012 and 2013 for this article.  Or point to other guys who have tried arguing to be considered at a different position than they were designated by the team (Suggs did it one year I think, ended up splitting the difference between DE and LB).

Baltimore Ravens: John Eisenberg's quick take on each of the pressing issues to come.

Makes a good point about out first round pick. Can't go wrong with Tackle or WR, but good WRs can be found later in the draft whereas starting caliber Tackles are fewer. He'd have a hard time passing up a Tackle where the Ravens are picking, since they usually don't pick this high.

Ravens sign RB Cicere Wood to 495k reserve futures deal. Wood was with Texans and than Patriots and had 4.46 40 Yd time. Had a few carries and was cut for smoking a doobie with two teammates. The doobie allegedly turned out to a cigar.

The counter to that is that if the Ravens are able to resign Monroe and they envision him as the LT for the next 4-5 years than there is no reason to draft a RT with a top 17 pick.

Sure there is. Even though a RT is not as valuable as a LT, it's not just plug and play. Teams are built in the trenches. O-line are built from the tackles. Sign Monroe, and get a stud tackle at 17. That gives you flexibility. You lose Monroe to injury, you have someone on the roster that can move to LT (and then you can try and address RT in-season by what's on the roster... like moving Osemele over.... something that numerous people have said is not ideal.)

Not to mention the guy they are protecting is being paid 120 million dollars so it would be a smart idea to protect that investment.

Im not spending a top 17 pick on RT. Even if the guy can be a very good RT. Its like taking a RB in the top half of a draft anymore. It's just not worth it from a value perspective to use that high of a draft pick anymore.
