Terps weren't favored today, but I thought they would win if they wanted it...   clearly they were into the game, but the defense couldn't stop Marshall.

Get Prince added to the O-line...  get to Spring Ball.... on to next year.

Edsall's job still secure, mostly because of MD's financial issues....  and also because there was 'some' improvement over last year... (along with another year marked by injuries)...

 

But... losing here, not getting the 8th win... having just 1 of Maryland's Top 20 recruits coming to UMD...that is not good.

He gets next year, and will be reevaluated after that. There is enough skill position coming back, that if MD can improve the o-line they can be in similar bowl as this year. If that happens, he probably gets another year. 

If MD steps back at all next year, that will be it.

Will be interesting to see what happens either way.

No curve...  injuries won't be considered...  needs another 7-8 wins, and further recruiting improvement to stay.

Next year is the make or break year for him as the head of the program... they either back-up this year with an equal year (which will be seen as better because they are in the Big Ten) or he's gone.

There is enough talent coming back that I can see him winning 7-8 games, but it certainly isn't a lock.

This was disappointing for reasons beyond just losing. They did not look well-prepared for this game, and on several occasions were just completely lost. The secondary especially had way too many breakdowns, especially given the time to prepare. I didn't note how many plays Johnson was in for, but aside from him these guys have played together for most of the season....no excuse at all.

I agree with you, they need to decide what direction to go in with only two years left. That said like BOB has pointed out, a 6-6 season will be very difficult to evaluate in this regard.

I think during the game the announcers referenced some article recently written but I forget where they said it was from.
