Markakis grounds out to Callaspo at 3rd. High throw, Pujols gets the tag on Nick. Hardy goes to 2nd. 2 out.

Come on Nick, how about a big game?

Going to be tough when the ump calls a ball that is 4 inches off the plate a strike.

Seems to happen to Nick a lot. He should be treated better by the umps at this point.

Really? Damn, the ESPN pitchtrack didn't show anything like that.

Be nice to get a hit here, and get another run back.

Jones flies out to Hunter in RF. 3-1 LA, going to the bottom of the 3rd.

Matusz has thrown 46 pitches, need a quick inning.

Our defense is atrocious. Let's be honest, we have 4 guys on the roster right now playing sig innings in the field that ideally are DHs in Reimold, Reynolds, Betemit, and Davis. Then you have a CF and 2b that are average to above average overall but are prone to lapses. Watching this all year is going to drive me crazy.

Basically, the Orioles need to decide which of Reynolds, Davis, and Reimold they want to keep as a fielder. No more than 1 of them is a reg fielder. I can deal with one of them as a reg fielder and one at DH but all 3 of them(if you sub Betemit for Reynolds at 3b) in the field at the same time just isn't going to work. We give away way too many outs even if they aren't officially errors.

Matusz starts Hunter off with a nice slowr curve, follows with 90 on the black for strike 2. Gets the k, with Hunter swinging. 1 out.

BTW....expanding on my post above the one thing Matusz really needs is his D picking him up right now. Like Bordick said, he wants it so much and is pressing too hard right now. One thing that would help him relax is great defense behind him and instead they've cost him a few runs and probably 20- 25 extra pitches.

Davis is fine in the field. I feel Reimold is usually good enough but it seems like when he makes a mistake, is a big one but yes, this isn't a good defensive team.
