Law's main points were that Bundy should not be limited to three innings and that he's clearly ready for AA. I agree, although I imagine the O's are thinking along these same lines after seeing what he's made of. I anticipate a promotion to Frederick soon, although Bowie wouldn't shock me. Thoughts?

What's Law saying? Bundy shouldn't be in Low-A, or that he should be throwing more than 3IP each time out?

I'm at work, so I can't listen to it right now.

I edited the OP... but, yes and yes.

They want him to last through the season, and he will progress (with innings, pitch count, and through the system) as the year progresses. You can disagree with that, but I don't think anything is occurring that is really hurting / limiting Bundy's progression.
I would like to see him promoted to at-least Frederick shortly though.

I might not agree with the O's approach (though I am not sure I do), but I do disagree with saying the O's are mishandling Bundy.
Agreed... "mishandling" is too strong a thing to say.

On one hand, I wish they had started him at Frederick and I do think he should be at 4 or 5 innings right now.
OTOH, they want him to pitch all year and by lessening his innings now, he is going to be able to do that.
He needs to be moved up soon..maybe give him one more Delmarva outing. Get him in Frederick and start to stretch him out and by July, he probably will be in Bowie.

I wish he started in Frederick. You start him out at 3 IP, work him up an inning each time. When he gets to 6 IP per game, you look at AA as an option. Let him run through a lineup more than once.

I assume he could be vying for a spot on the MLB roster by May 2013 like Matt Wieters.

He is clearly above the level of Delmarva and should be moved. If he isn't in Frederick/Bowie by the beginning of May, then there would be a cause for concern and I'd be more lenient to side with Law here.

Yep..this.
I might do things a bit differently. It's not like the Orioles have him throwing 120 pitches at Triple A right now, or pitching an inning at a time in rookie ball. No way 'mishandling' is the word.
I do hope he moves to Frederick very shortly. And they're keeping the innings down so he can pitch all year. Makes sense to me. I think Law is overanalyzing the situation.

I saw this thread and wanted to direct you to some of Law's quotes in case you're at work and can't listen. I transcribed most of the interview for my post on BaltimoreSportsReport.com. - http://baltimorespor...rt.com/?p=27212
Here's an excerpt.
“Dylan Bundy should have started his professional career in Double-A, that’s a mistake by the Orioles,” Law said on his podcast, Baseball Today. “It’s only be compounded by the fact that they are leaving him in Low-A, two levels below where he should be, and they’re not stretching him out. He’s going three innings, that’s not a starter’s workload.”
Law explains that he thinks there is no evidence that pitchers stay healthy with low pitch counts.

I certainly do not like the idea of him being at Delmarva but he really isn't pitching right now. He is working on his secondaries in the twin bullpens between starts and his starts are almost simulated games. They seem a lot closer to someone getting his work in at this point then actually pitching.
I have not seen reports of his third start but I am guessing the first inning was all fastballs to various quadrants with the change showing up in the second and the curve making a few appearances in the third. I don't think he even threw his cutter the first two games.
Well I hear Linda Ronstadt is looking for a guitar player.

Ricker Peterson >>>>>>>>> Keith Law.
The end.
Haha in this case it's debatable.
Also, Chris, I hope you survived the snark attack from half an hour ago.

Geez, I can't believe I typo'd that. It's been one of these days. What is this snark attack you speak of, are you talking to Stoner?

He is talking about a mild exchange with Law on Twitter. I've sent him an email. No big deal.

Gotcha, he quoted me and said "Chris", so I was slightly confused, although I figured he was referring to you.
Now I must go check the Twitter and see what this is all about. Fun fun!

Lots of O's fans having "discussions" with Keith on Twitter. Most of them being made fun of (deservedly so).
I was just being facetious in regards to your exchange Mr. Stoner.
