He could just never hit.
He IMO, just never played with confidence. And when you combine that with below average defense, it was just a matter of time.

I would actually be surprised. If he could catch or if he could hit. But hard to see a team taking a flyer on a guy who has had all the time in the world to show he can hit MLB pitching who has no position either.
Hey we should all be so lucky as to have had a shot to follow our dreams. Not all of them work out. Best of luck kid in whatever comes next.

He was a top 100 prospect and a league averagish hitter the past two years in limited time. Somebody might take a flyer. It would help if he could be just an average defender but I don’t think that’s possible.

I think you are right. He needs to get out of the Oriole organization and listen to a different set of voices. I don’t think he will ever be a good defensive catcher but there may be a hitter in there somewhere.
I am not sure I have ever seen a hitter have less confidence.

I definitely agree with you about the confidence. He has always been a very patient hitter, however, this year it looked like he was almost afraid to swing the bat at times this year.

I wouldnt want him behind the plate for a team I was managing. Just saying.
His bat never lived up to the hype.
Hope he can find another spot and gets it sorted out, so he could become a big league player.
