He often has high pitch counts through 2 or 3 and then settles down and still gets through 6 or 7. He's the most durable guy on the staff, so going to 115 or so pitches is no problem.
True. I usually always expect a 5ip performance out of him after the 2nd.

Also, nice to see Davis continue his pattern of working the count and taking the BB. You can't figure he'll be a consistent .300 hitter, so it'd be nice to see him settle into a 70-80 BB a year guy to help with the OBP.

Let's get on the board.
5-6-7 isn't usually a strength for us, but against lefties the bottom order guys tonight are all pretty good. Markakis the exception, struggling a lot vs lefties this year.

Wieters is gonna hit one out later tonight. He sees Price really well for some reason.

Alright Nicky! One of the harder balls he's hit lately.

Isn't that the truth?
What's the odds that a player who switch hits but has such a drastic performance from one side of the plate eventually settles into hitting from one side?

I can't remember anyone ever giving it up. Certainly not anyone who was good enough to stick as an everyday player as a switch hitter. Gotta be a couple examples, but zero pop to mind.

Nick leads the league in singles? That's sorta cool...I guess...
I was just going to say.... is that really a compliment? Especially when you're hitting .280? I can see it being a good thing if you're Ichiro and hitting .350. It's a different story if you're Markakis and hitting .280.

Anyone watching a stream of the game online? My two favorite sites are no longer working...quite irritating. Thanks!

Kinda cool to have the leader in singles, doubles, and homers. Not very cool for Nick to be leading in singles, though unless, like you said, he was hitting 330 or something and still getting his XBH.
