Morocco stayed tough and held France after that early goal, although France did have a couple of quality chances. And Morocco hit the post on a bicycle kick.
On to the second half.

How do they break a tie for golden boot. Anyone?
Assists. After that I'm not sure.

Every coach worth a shit!
The plan on how you are going to approach the matches if developed over several months of watching tape of the teams you are facing, watching your players in their league matches, and talking to their league coaches about them. Then last watching them in the final training camp working toward the tactics you laid out.
That doesn't mean you don't modify those plans based on the outcomes of matches, player form and fitness, and cards. But to not have a solid plan upfront would be suicide.
Should Behralter have kept it in house? Sure. But he is NOT the one who created the problem. Don't give me Gio's a 19 year old kid. He's been playing high level professionally for 3 years. He owns this.
Berhalter's the one who made it public, so how's Gio supposed to own that? And what's he supposed to be owning anyway? The fact he went through the motions after being told by his coach he wasn't going to play him? Why did he feel compelled to tell Gio he wasn't going to use him, if at all, anyway? Is that a standup thing to do? Or was he setting him up to do what one might've expected he do? Regardless, that was a massive lack of leadership and discretion on Berhalter's part. Hell, they even held a vote without that fact being made known. If Berhalter's goal is to never coach the USMNT again, then he's done a bang up job of it.

I put down 10 on Messi to win the boot back in group play. The pay out would be be 120, I got cold feet today and cashed out for 50

I got Mbabbe and a France win for +1000. Small wager but still would be nice

Looks like at the WC a tie is broke by non penalty goals. I think Mbabbe owns that tiebreaker.

Actually Berhalter did not make it public. Its was in a private leadership forum in which the expressed rules of the forum was that any information shared in that forum was strictly confidential and could not be shared outside that forum. One of the attendees did not honor that commitment. Now perhaps he should have been smarter than brining it up even though it was supposed to be behind closed doors.

According to the article below, 1st tiebreaker is assists (advantage Messi), 2nd is fewer minutes played (advantage Mbappe).
But Alvarez and Giroud are just a a goal behind both. Should be an awesome final between what I think have been the clear 2 best teams.

Edit: Too many variables to hedge. Gotta ride it out. Vive la France and Mbabbe

If Berhalter didn't bare his soul to a bunch of paying customers at some bizarre private leadership event, then nothing gets shared. This is 100% Berhalter's fault.
What I don't get is, given the fact he's known Gio Reyna his entire life, how did he think all of this was going to play out?
