RIP to one of the greatest players of any sport.  Soccer legend Pele passed away at 82.

 

As a sophomore, in high School, I had a buddy who was a huge soccer fan and he basically dragged me to old Memorial stadium to watch Pele play.  I knew then and still don't know a damn thing about soccer, but that day Pele played and scored 3 goals.  My buddy said you just saw greatness.  He was not wrong.

 

RIP Edson Arantes do Nascimento.  Otherwise known as Pele

Anita Pointer, 74, co-founder of the Pointer Sisters. Sadly, three of the group's members--Bonnie (2020), June (2006) and now Anita have all passed.

Long-time NFL referee Art McNally, 97, of natural causes at a hospital near his home in Newtown, PA. He was the first on-field official inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Ford was a key part to some good Celtic teams.  RIP.

I didn't realize that he hit the first three-point shot in NBA history on Oct. 12, 1979 against Houston.

Former MLB third baseman and later executive Sal Bando, 78, after a lengthy bout with cancer. Bando played on the Oakland A's World Series teams of 1972-74 before later moving on as a free agent to Milwaukee. He would later serve as GM of the Brewers for eight seasons beginning in 1981.
