I don't know what it is but I had trouble locking in my brackets on ESPN and CBS this week. Looks like my bracket for BSL Madness didn't lock in, but I can still see my bracket -- it's just not registered or something.
The same thing happened on CBS. Saved my 3 brackets, and they didn't register. I had to go back and do it a second time and it worked.
That said, I whiffed on Baylor and Iowa State -- I had them both going to the Sweet 16 but those were the only misses from yesterday.

Damn, with the way things started I never thought I would have finished tied for 2nd. I only picked 1 correct matchup in the Round of 64 for Duke's region. But things didn't turn out so badly. Fun times as always, guys.

I've done a pool for the tourney for a number of years now that is a lot of fun, and not your typical bracket pool. Like to introduce it here. Anyone interested, please say so here. Here's how it works.
8 people in the pool, 64 teams = each person selects 8 teams. Teams are selected snake draft style until all teams are picked. You get points for each game your teams win. Most points at the end, wins 1st prize. Usually pay out 3 places, and a bonus if you pick the championship team.
I do this live in person, so how would this work here?
Ahead of time (like I'm putting it out now) we figure out who wants in. I have done the 8=64, or 9 people get 7 teams each (63) with the unpicked team (play in 16 seed that never wins) just crossed off, or 10 people get 6 teams each (60) so all the 16 seeds are crossed off. If this gets a lot of traction, like if 14 people are interested, we can do two pools, with the option of some playing in both. Once we figure out who wants in, start collecting buy-ins, we set a "draft order", totally random, pulling names out of a hat.
Once we have the contestants, the order, so starting selection Sunday, The first pick would post here "#1, Team X". The second pick would then post "#2, Team Y", all the way through the selections. I would hope that everyone would be able to log on and make their picks, get through all 64 between Sunday and Wednesday night.
How do you keep track? There is a spreadsheet I make which accompanies the pool. Easy to read and follow, I'll email it to those involved.
What about play in games? You are basically taking the winner of the play in game, if you take that pick. So if a play in game is Team A vs. Team B, you don't select one or the other, you select the winner of the game.
Scoring: 2 points per win in the first three rounds. 3 points for a 4th round win (advancing to the final four), 1 point for the final two rounds. It puts emphasis on picking more games right early on, than just picking the champion.
Buy in: $20. With 8 teams, I do $90 for 1st, $40 for 2nd, $20 for 3rd, $10 to whoever picks the champ.
Questions, comments, concerns?
