The 28 year old Lucas Harrell is in his 4th Major League season, but this is just the 2nd full-time year for him. Drafted by the White Sox in 2004 in the 4th round, he never made the White Sox top 20 prospects list until 2010, when he was the 18th ranked prospect in their organization, and graded as a "C" prospect.

That said, Harrell put together a solid 2012 in his 32 starts. He went 11-11 with a 3.76 ERA (3.75 FIP). He mainly accomplished that with his 57% GB rate, and 9% HR/FB rate.

This year's been a challenge. He's averaged 4.95 K/9 and 5.23 BB/9, while posting a 4-6 record and a 5.37 ERA (5.53 FIP). GB rate is still 54%, which is solid... but HR/FB has rocketed up to 15.7% this year.

Here is BrooksBaseball's Pitcher at-a-glance snippet on Harrell:

Pitch Repertoire At-A-Glance
Lucas Harrell has thrown 5,093 pitches that have been tracked by the PITCHf/x system between 2010 and 2013, all of them occuring in the MLB Regular Season. In 2013, he has relied primarily on his Sinker (92mph), also mixing in a Cutter (89mph), Fourseam Fastball (93mph), Change (83mph) and Curve (82mph).

I'd like to see Tillman bounce back with a good outing.

If he does, it sets up nicely for an O's W.

Sorry you couldn't bunt Chris... Hopefully we never have to see you try again. But something tells me Teagarden won't stay healthy.

Wonder when the O's will go with the padded Lazy Boy'esque chairs behind home plate? Gotta think that's coming sometime in the near future.

Barnes singles up the middle, leading things off for the Astros.

God I hope not.

If luxury box sales pick up, which they say will by the ASB this year if the O's are still in it, then more companies will request seats behind the plate for other guests that prefer it. I guarantee that if the corporations are lined up for O's season plans, they'll put in those luxury seats at some point.

I've never seen them filled. Why install an eyesore?

That'll change though, in a big way, if the corporations come back... and they're expected to from this success.

Here is a piece from the Baltimore Business Journal on that.

Basically to sum up, most luxury suites are sold in the season, but last season most weren't convinced we were good until September. This season, now that we're good again, it's expected we'll see a huge jump in luxury box sales (hence a higher demand in "behind the plate" seats as well").

It's just the thing that takes the longest to change after a resurgence to the win column, because of the high dollars involved in securing luxury suites and such.
